Longley family history, 1876-1950.

Family history of Oren and Matilda Longley and their daughter Ora Hulda Longley compiled by J.E. Beasley, Susan Longley Henning, and C.E. Hawtrey, describing Oren's farming near Dousman (Wis.) and work as a butter maker in the surrounding area (1876-1921), his marriage to Matilda Schenkenberg and later work with Milwaukee Interurban Railroad. The Ora Longely history includes reminiscences of her childhood, descriptions of her training and work as a nurse (1919-1934) in Milwaukee and Burlington (Wis.) and Fayetteville (N.C.), and an account by her son, C.E. Hawtrey, of his mother from his childhood in the early 1940's through her death in 1977. The history also includes scanned photographs of family documents (1844-1969) such as certificates, wills, mortgages, land contracts, and receipts. In addition there are 15 identified photographs of staff members of Milwaukee Passavant Hospital, during the peroid Ora Longely trained as a nurse there (1919-1922).
